description Thank you for choosing Benson State Park for your event or picnic. We hope you enjoy your visit and have a chance to take advantage of the many recreational opportunities at Benson Lake. This lake is stocked by the Oregon Dept. of Fish and Wildlife - so bring your fishing pole if you'd like to try your luck. The water is warm enough in the summer months to swim in, so bring your swimsuit - or bring along a blanket and sunbathe along its banks. There's a horseshoe pit and volleyball net for you to enjoy. If you are interested in a volleyball and horse shoes please call Rooster Rock Park for more info 503-695-2261 ext 0. Day use facilities are not reservable online. Reservations may be made by calling 800-452-5687. Park is only accessible east bound on I-84. Pets (dogs) are not allowed in the lake(s), and leashes are required on pets at all times when in the park. A year round 9 hole disc golf course is available for park users (bring own discs). During peak summer season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) Benson is staffed by park personnel to help you with any questions.

importantInformation A $5.00 entrance fee is charged year round. An OPRD day use permit or annual permit must be displayed in each vehicle. Day Use hours: Open 6:00 am to 10:00 pm year round. There is an $8 reservation fee per site reserved. An $8 transaction fee is charged for any date or site changes made to an existing reservation. Base rate for reservations includes the first 50 people, $1.00 per person thereafter. 250 person maximum. Group leader is responsible to pay additional group fees. If additional group fees are not paid at the time a reservation is made, contact Rooster Rock State Park regarding payment of these fees. (503-695-2261, ext 0) Water is off and restrooms closed from Mid-November through Mid-March. Helmets are required for riders under the age of 16. No Smoking tobacco products except in vehicles and personal camping units, in accordance with all applicable laws governing smoking in vehicles. Groups must contact the park at (503) 695-2261 x221, 30 days prior to arrival to discuss if a PARK PERMIT IS REQUIRED FOR NON-TYPICAL PICNIC-RELATED EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES Such as: *Special events involving non-traditional park activities (baptisms/weddings/car shows/other events etc) *Approval of Caterers/Vendors *use of kegs (OLCC permit required) *Set up of bouncy houses, waterslides and other inflatables *Approval of any use of Sound Systems, Bands, DJ's, or Special Entertainment. *Personal setup items such as trailer barbeques, tables, chairs, decorations. *Day use fee tally - to pay for their guests Day Use vehicle parking fee. *Driving stakes or other objects into the ground *Attaching anything to structures or any natural resources *Special access to this area for vehicles to aid in event set up and or the dropping off or picking up of persons who need assistance with getting closer to the area. *No parking or leaving of vehicles at the shelter site*
